A Sunday in the Country & OOTD

Hi All! I hope you remembered to turn your clocks forward…I could have used that extra hour today. I packed a lot on my plate and I’m struggling to find the time to do everything that’s on my itinerary.

Currently as I write this, we are doing our first BBQ of the season…just weeks away from the Spring season, I’m BBQ’ing some fabulous Medittarian burgers–figure friendly, of course :)
The weather reached the low 60′s and was simply fabulous…took a drive to the mall.
Here is a pictures of that cute little Christmas ornament that I hauled from Forever 21 a few weeks ago…makes a cute charm for my Bimmer…
While I was driving, my husband snapped these shots…I’m so used to seeing all the horse & buggy’s on the road now, though I’ll never get used to the smell here in the country!  I adore driving by the horses, cows, sheep & goats. Here is a little bit of the country…
Is this an OOTD post, a Twenty-Two Days of Taupe post? Who knows? As I said, I packed a lot on my plate today AND also tried to squeeze a video in…still have to go through the footage to see if it’s usable–why oh why did I pack too much into today?
I suppose I’ll leave the makeup for another post and give you a breakdown of today’s outfit of the day…
The Bimmer and I are coordinating today *lol*

OOTD: Spring is in the Air!

Today was a beautiful day–warm and sunny. I can’t believe it got into the low 70′s today…made me crave Spring even more. I even cheated and used a Springtime candle today :)

Back in mid-Fall, I bought some relaxed fitting tops that were mainly shorter in the sleeves. Apparently, I had forgotten how cold the Winter REALLY is. With the string of nicer days, I decided to go with one of the new tops I bought back in mid-Fall.

For makeup, I went with a subtle silvery smokey eye. Not too much dramatization in the outer corner. I concentrated on lightly smudging the upper lash line.

Since it was VERY windy, I wanted to wear my hair back but not do much due to the ridiculous winds. Yesterday while working out, I was watching Sex & The City (Love!) and was inspired by the fabulous Carrie Bradshaw to do a sleek and simple pony. It took no time at all and I was pleased with it however, I must say, she looked way more fabulous with this hairstyle. Here is a very bad screen shot *lol* The picture does not do this hairstyle justice!

I broke out my Pippa bag today–I had forgotten how amazing this bag is! There is a compartment for everything. Love it.

Royally Blue

I love wearing neutral colors and solid prints then accenting the outfit with pops of color. I’ve been into using my eye makeup and shoes as accessories &  pops of color lately.

For makeup, I used the Too Faced Smokey Eye Shadow collection-I had been DYING to use the blueberry toned colors in the palette but never knew what to accent them wtih–then I saw those royal blue shoes–and viola!

*Insert cheesy (obviously fake smile) picture of me holding the heel of my shoe* ;)

Outfit of the Day-10.30.10

I’m a little bummed that the tutorial for this look was a big FAIL! The overall look came out great but the I wasn’t impressed with the footage. I was very pleased with how the “Outfit of the Day” photos came out. To view all the pictures, check out my portfolio.

I’m in love with this blazer I bought at Target. It’s absolutely stunning and I’m very pleased with the quality of this blazer. Because black goes with anything, I paired this blazer with so bold pieces-bright royal blue pumps & my “Heart of the Ocean” inspired necklace from the movie, Titanic. The jacket-although it’s chic, I’d say it’s the understated piece compared to the bold necklace & pumps.

I rarely wear anything other than my larger size handbags but I though a simple black clutch would look fantastic…luckily all my necessities fit in this tiny clutch! I’m lovin’ this look-it’s so sophisticated and chic!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Hello Everyone! I haven’t blogged in quite some time. I’ve been quite unmotivated to do anything since we had 2 massive snowstorms last week. I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine’s Day. It just occurred to that I got engaged 7 years ago today! My, oh my, time certainly does fly.

Today was a really nice…I did a little shopping at MAC & Ulta and had a late lunch at Starbucks. It was a really great afternoon. Today at Ulta- I found (what I hope is) a dupe for MAC’s Coconut Ice nail polish. I’m excited to try that out.

I was very excited about the outfit I wore today-I bought these fabulous royal blue pumps about a month ago and I was waiting for just the right time to wear them! What I love about these pumps are that they are unique-it’s not everyday that you see someone wearing velvery royal blue shoes.  The shoes actually reminded me a bit of Carrie Bradshaw’s “Something Blue” pumps by Manolo Blahnik (just for the simple fact that they are a deep blue). Obviously you really can’t compare the two but, these pumps are going to be one of those classic items in my collection-they pair well with jeans or could go with just the right workplace attire…I know I’ll be able to make it work!

I also treated myself to the “Large Oval Key” from Tiffany’s.  I bought it about a week ago & I was not sure if  I was going to wait until Mother’s Day or just cave in & open it on Valentine’s Day. I just could not wait…it’s so beautiful and I absolutely love it. I think out of all the keys, I’m most fond about the oval one.

Have a great week & stay warm.
