Makeup Brands that disappointed:
Certain Chanel products–for the money, pigmentation should be up to par.
Urban Decay: more along the lines of how they promoted Naked 2-it was shady and rubbed me the wrong way.
Sigma: advertising whores. I’d rather pay double for MAC brushes in the future.

I can’t wait to see what new & exciting beauty items catch my eye in 2012!!

Current Obsessions

Technically this isn’t a favorites of the month video as I’ve already
done one for the month of September however, over the past 2 weeks or
so, I’ve been really into these products and have been using them
everyday! I’m a picky gal and change my mind quite often, who knows if
I’ll  be obsessed with these items toward the end of the month–this
is why I’m doing a mid month obsession blog post!

Despite a few overly warm days, it’s been somewhat seasonal and the
scent I’ve been grabbing the most is Aqualina’s Pink Sugar. Been using
this scent on and off for about 6 years now!

I recently had a photo shoot and I wanted to feel a bit more glamorous
than usual so I decided to use my Chanel Bronze Universal instead of
my everyday NARS Laguna bronzer. I thought the Chanel bronzer would
only be good in the Summer but surprisingly, it’s been a nice
transition into Fall. Here is a piccy from the shoot…

As stated in my September Faves video, I’ve been reading, Midnight
Frolic: A Ziegfeld Girl’s True Story by Marcelle Earle–well at first
it was one of those things that I’d read it when I had the time NOW
I’ve been enjoying it so much that I’m making the time to read it
whenever I can-it’s a great read; I get lost in the book…The time
period is in the mid 1900 (1917 etc…). It’s almost like I can
picture myself as Marcelle dancing on the stage as a glamorous
Ziegfeld Follies girl, socializing with beautiful icons of the
past–Marion Davis and Olive Thomas. It’s so neat to know that her
story really took place and that there was a time when things were a
bit more simplistic–oh, I could go on for hours… :)

As for makeup–I’ve rediscovered my MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle–it
gives you a nice warm champagne sheen! I also used this one on the day
of my photo shoot.
Feline Kohl Power–OMFG!!!! Where have you been all my life?! I LOVE
IT-’nuff said!
MAC Runaway Red lipstick–you know the deal with this one.
CoverGirl Champagne Eye Shadow-When I’m not using MAC Soft & Gentle,
I”m using this. It’s AWESOME.
Stila Smudge Pot in Kitten–been loving this as my primary base!
MAC 150 brush-one of my 1st MAC purchases…I bought it for my wedding
day (to do my makeup-obviously) it pairs nicely with…
Coty Airspun–I love this. Drugstore. Cheap. Fabulous. I’ll never use
another finishing powder EVER again.
St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Lotion–Moisturizing & smells nice for
this time of the year :)
Vintage Sister Espresso Bean Lip Balm–Been using this one a lot
lately…I had an unfortunate mishap with my lip balm and my cheap ass
was NOT about to throw it away. I managed to save the rest of it. It’s
so soft that I was able to “smush” it down into a little cosmetic
container. Crisis averted!

Last up….I’ve been rockin’ my oversized cluster earrings--not too
big, not too “post-sized” gives me just the right amount of bling :)

I suppose I’ll see you later this month to discuss my October
faves–we shall see if I’m still using these fab items as much in the
next few weeks! xo

Pre-Wedding Anniversary Adventures

“Gratitude changes the pangs of memory into a tranquil joy”

Operation 7.15 is quickly approaching! We’re at this point where there’s not much to do but wait until we get our moving truck (which is a few days away!) We kept busy today–we went for a long drive & did a little pre anniversary shopping.

While Hubby was in Wawa, I played the role of the shallow vixen. Exhibit A. ;)

On the way to the mall, we stopped by our new home and I snapped this quick piccy. So peaceful and serene! This will officially be MY view come 7.15. I can’t wait…the days of dark, dank, doom will be a distant memory.

Tomorrow is our 7th wedding anniversary! They say that the traditional wedding gift for year 7 is wood or copper, I chose glitz & sophistication! My husband bought me Love, Chloe EDP. Originally I wanted Chanel No. 5 Eau Premier, but I smelled Love, Chloe and I instantly fell in love with the delicateness of this beautiful fragrance. I’m a huge fan of the original Chloe fragrance and this newer version definitely does not disappoint! Another great item I picked up was the Makeup Forever Artistry Favorites deluxe sampler! I have never tried MUFE but I’ve had my eye on the brand for quite some time! I’ll have to blog more in detail and give my thoughts on this deluxe kit!

In addition to the fragrance, I also stopped by the Chanel counter and bought the glossimer in Futile.  I’m a Chanel junkie, ’nuff said.

On the way home, we picked up some homemade Blueberry & Strawberry Jam from a local hotspot! Despite the intense heat, it was a fabulous day!

Tomorrow I plan to do a FOTD wearing my new Chanel gloss!

Hope you all are doing well! xo

Another Sephora 500 Point Perk

Hey Ladies! It’s that time again! I was at Sephora today and FINALLY I was eligible for the latest 500 point perk. This is my second time getting the 500 point perk–so that means Ms. Valentino spent $500 at Sephora in 10 months. Ekkk–is that something I should be ashamed about or proud of?? *lol*

I go to Sephora more than I’d like to admit–even if it’s just window shopping–so I’m very attentive to what the latest samples & giveaways are and the latest 500 point perk definitely peaked my interest. I was able to get my hands on the Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar set. Come on, how exotic and summery does THAT sound? Another perk is that it’s made with all natural and organic ingredients.  One little sniff of the lotion and I HAD to have it. It gave me a GREAT excuse to stop by Sephora and pick up an eye shadow I’ve been wanting for some time now. NARS Night  Flight–oh it’s beautiful and I’m sooo wearing it to the Avenged Sevenfold concert coming up in April.

The Pacifica set includes 3 oz size of body butter & body wash AND a 1 oz perfume–not a body splash–an actual perfume!  My first impressions: The scent is absolutely fabulous–very warm and sexy-it’s a very true coconut smell with a subtle sweetness to it. Of course I do not plan to use this until late May/ early June so I will keep you all posted on the consistency of the lotion and body wash as well as the, length of the scent among other things! So defnitely stay tuned for that–mostly likely will do a video on it in the coming months.

What’s in my Stocking??
