Makeup Brands that disappointed:
Certain Chanel products–for the money, pigmentation should be up to par.
Urban Decay: more along the lines of how they promoted Naked 2-it was shady and rubbed me the wrong way.
Sigma: advertising whores. I’d rather pay double for MAC brushes in the future.

I can’t wait to see what new & exciting beauty items catch my eye in 2012!!

Softwash Smokey Eyes

PS–This pic looks SO photo shopped but it wasn’t. Just a little overexposed due to horrible lighting!

I recently discovered the amazingness that is the CCO and went on a little spree (haul coming soon!!). I picked up a lot of things that I missed out on back in the Holiday 2010 collection, specifically, the Tartan collection’s Cool Seekers Pigments. Today I used Softwash Gray Pigment with NARS Night Breed & MAC’s Black Tied and came up with this look. I paired it with a baby pink lip. I really like this pigment–I used it with MAC Fix + and it still came out a very subtle gray color. I imagine when applied to the lid dry that it’s even lighter.

What I used:

…and here is a quick OOTD! I will be filming a hair tutorial on this side swept updo tomorrow!

Playing with NARS’ Night Flight

It is my mission in life to own all the colors in the NARS Night Series(I NEED Night Fever in my life). To date, I own Night Breed, Night Star & Night Flight. Night Flight is described as black with cobalt blue pearls. I think it’s the most beautiful and unique color-ever, however, I find that it’s a little hard for me to pull off. Not sure if it’s my skin tone (I find that this shade looks fabulous on ladies with a darker skin tone). It’s a very hard shade to pair with other colors. I’ve seen tutorials were people often pair NF with Surabaya–beautiful combo but again, I think it would look silly on my NW20 skin tone.

I’ve been trying to work with Night Flight because I *really* want to wear it to the Avenged Sevenfold concert I’m going to in a few weeks. Typically I’ve been trying to work with itall over the lid as a more deep, dramatic smokey eye rather than putting it only on my crease/ outer corner. Besides, not sure what other colors I could put on the lid that would compliment NF in the outer crease. The fact that it has cobalt blue pearls makes it harder to pair but I love the shade so much.

Today I paired it with Wet n’ Wild’s Lagoon. It seems like a very complimenting shade! Not sure how it would look with Lagoon on the lid and Night Flight in the crease-perhaps I’ll try to play around with it like that one day. But I think Night Flight works better on the entire lid with a lighter complimenting shade in the crease. What do you think?
