OOTD: Minimal Color Blocking

As you may know, I am not someone who is entirely too trendy. While I love beauty & fashion, my style tends to be very clean cut & neutral. I love the color blocking trend but I can’t justify buying shoes & tops that can only be used for a season or two–it’s a waste of money.

As you know, I am super obsessed with Viva Glam Nicki lipstick by MAC. I was looking for a way to do some kind of color blocking with the things that I already own on my collection. I thought a deep green would go fabulously with it because it’s reminiscent of  rich and vibrant watermelon colors *lol* I toned the outfit down significantly by wearing nude pumps and a white button down shirt. Very classic and simple.

I accessorized with an oversized green clutch, green earrings and my lipstick (Viva Glam Nicki) I know the trend calls for more than two pieces but in my realm, I make up my own rules and it’s all about what makes me feel great. I think this is a motto we should all live by! :)

Face of the Day with Viva Glam Nicki

I had plans to wear Viva Glam Nicki today with accents of color but it was so crazy windy out that I had to put my original hair & outfit plans on hold.

I opted for a plain cream sweater, oversized pearls and a ponytail instead–still a win. :)

Every time I wear Viva Glam Nicki, I love it more and more…

MAC Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick

Hello Lover. I’m telling you–this lipstick has to be the best Viva Glam lipstick that MAC Cosmetics has EVER produced. I think it looks fabulous on my NW20 skintone. Viva Glam Nicki is a Bright Yellow Pink color that takes on a vibrant mango pink on my lips. LOVEEEEEEEEE. This is going to be my #1 go to lip color this Summer. I want to get another tube as a backup when my birthday rolls around in May :)

Below you will see an OOTD. For my makeup, I played it safe since I don’t have many bright colors in my winter wardrobe.  I paired this lipstick with a very warm & neutral brown smokey eye. It came out better than I expected–it compliments the lipstick perfectly. I am planning on getting some more vibrant colors to add to my Summer wardrobe JUST so I can rock this lipstick more!

An up close look of my makeup–

Viva Glam Nicki on my lips-

I’m Gaga for…

VIVA GLAM GAGA!!!!!!! Yes, I’m so late to the party. But I love it now and that’s all that matters.
(Bland but comfy OOTD–I had to do grocery shopping)

I suppose this blog post will be boring for some however, I’m just
know finding myself on the Viva Glam Gaga bandwagon. I originally
bought the lipstick when it first came out last year, but I felt that
it looked a bit lackluster alone. After many months of debating, I
picked up the Viva Glam Gaga lipglass  & hoped to pair the lipstick &
lipglass together in hopes of better results (after all, the lipstick
if gorg in the tube).

The verdict? LOVE. I absolutely adore a combo of the two together!
Adding the lipglass over the lipstick really adds a pop of vibrancy.
I paired my Viva Glam Gaga lip combo with a soft, shimmery pink eye
shadow & a cool toned brown eye shadow in the crease. I also added a
touch of pink iridescent glitter–after all, rockin’ Viva Glam Gaga
allows you to push some boundaries :)
