The End of an Era

Well…it’s officially the end of an era. Thanks to pinkiecharm on YouTube, I found out that Bath & Body Works is discontinuing the one and only, Cucumber Melon. Some may say: “so what’s the big deal?”

To me, it’s a VERY big deal. It was the first scent I ever bought from Bath & Body Works–April 2000. I was in 10th grade and I remember thinking I was hot stuff with my “name brand” bath products! It made me feel so grown up and important. It’s a scent that is very reminiscent of Springtime.

When I close my eyes and smell it, I automatically think of my carefree teenage years and the endless possibilities that came along with them. Another thought that comes to mind when I smell Cucumber Melon is the optimistism that comes along with Springtime-green grass, sunny skies & iced coffee. :)

Another Sephora 500 Point Perk

Hey Ladies! It’s that time again! I was at Sephora today and FINALLY I was eligible for the latest 500 point perk. This is my second time getting the 500 point perk–so that means Ms. Valentino spent $500 at Sephora in 10 months. Ekkk–is that something I should be ashamed about or proud of?? *lol*

I go to Sephora more than I’d like to admit–even if it’s just window shopping–so I’m very attentive to what the latest samples & giveaways are and the latest 500 point perk definitely peaked my interest. I was able to get my hands on the Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar set. Come on, how exotic and summery does THAT sound? Another perk is that it’s made with all natural and organic ingredients.  One little sniff of the lotion and I HAD to have it. It gave me a GREAT excuse to stop by Sephora and pick up an eye shadow I’ve been wanting for some time now. NARS Night  Flight–oh it’s beautiful and I’m sooo wearing it to the Avenged Sevenfold concert coming up in April.

The Pacifica set includes 3 oz size of body butter & body wash AND a 1 oz perfume–not a body splash–an actual perfume!  My first impressions: The scent is absolutely fabulous–very warm and sexy-it’s a very true coconut smell with a subtle sweetness to it. Of course I do not plan to use this until late May/ early June so I will keep you all posted on the consistency of the lotion and body wash as well as the, length of the scent among other things! So defnitely stay tuned for that–mostly likely will do a video on it in the coming months.

A Healthy Glow

I’m definitely not fond of the “fake & bake” tans. I used to love going to the tanning booth but it’s  100% unhealthy so I decided to try the self tanning lotions. What I like about this method  is it’s a safe and relatively easy way to get a nice warm glow. For the past year I had been using Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizing Lotion after a shower. I recently picked up a new product by Jergens that does the same thing but in a foamy form.  I decided that I HAD to try this new formula because there are definitely some cons to the lotion form.

Some of my cons with the lotion form:

-Bad  chemical smell that lasts all day-scented lotions, perfumes & body sprays did not help.

-Took FOREVER to make sure it was dry all over my body. I was afraid of the lotion getting on my clothing .

-Very time consuming to put on.

I’d have to say that I really like the foamy version MUCH better. I found that it was easier to use and dried much quicker.  There was a hint of a chemical like smell but not nearly as strong as the lotion. I also saw results quicker too-in just 2 days I was noticeably tanner.

Overall, I really prefer the Jergens Daily Moisturizing Foam as opposed to the lotion.  It’s just THAT amazing!
