Today’s look features a silvery taupe & a deep eggplant purple.
…it’s been awhile since I’ve done a taupe post! the weather was beautiful so I was wearing bolder lips & neutral eyes. Today was col & murky out–perfect day for a smokey eye.
Breakdown of this eye look:
-L’Oreal HIP Duo in Electrified
-MAC Typographic e/s
-Maybelline 24-7 in Tough as Taupe
-MUFE Smoky Lash
-MAC Feline Kohl Power
I embraced my inner Adele today! Big hair is LOVE.
It’s been awhile since I’ve done a taupe makeup post this look was inspired by my latest issue of Glamour Magazine–I was flipping through and saw this beautiful messy yet sexy taupey makeup. I think it looks fabulous on the model but I don’t think the messy part would have looked too good while running errands! I cleaned it up, smoked it out and gave it my Nancy Valentino flare *lol*
I’m also including some photos with my new faux Alexander McQueen scarf. The man was a fucking genius (*RIP*) however, this chick can’t not afford his beautiful pieces so I’ve gone with faux & slightly tacky–I love it though.
I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve done a beauty video or a beauty post! I’ve REALLY been into taupe colors lately. I thought it would be fun to come up with a little challenge for myself–”Twenty-Two Days of Taupe”! There’s no real significance behind the number twenty-two; I thought it just sounded cute *lol* Since there are SO many variations of taupe out on the beauty market, I thought it’d be fun to come out with as many taupe makeup looks as possible and my goal is to get to 22!
Day #1 starts off with the most obvious, Satin Taupe. It was literally the second eye shadow that I bought from MAC and I loved it because it went with everything I wore. This look is VERY versatile–you can wear Satin Taupe alone for a day look & smokey it out with a darker dramatic color for the evening.
I’m very big on coordinating eye makeup & outfits. Taupe is very versatile because it there are so many colors of it–dark, light, metallic, sheer, cool tones, warm tones and the list goes on…

To use the Powder as a makeup Primer–
Baby powder can be used to set your foundation, your eye shadow, eyeliner or mascara. Brush a little baby powder on your lips before adding lipstick. After coming from the shower or after your bath, brush baby powder all over your body. The soft feel of your skin and fresh smell will last all day.
To Use Powder as a Setting Powder–
A major makeup requirement when a woman has an oily complexion is to set her makeup. If your makeup is not set, an application that took thirty minutes to hours to perfect, wears away in less than one hour. Before leaving home, if you have not properly set your makeup, you find yourself needing to touch up your eyeliner, your mascara, your powder and even your lipstick.
After applying your makeup, take a few minutes to dust your eyeliner, foundation, even lips with baby powder. Your makeup will last the entire day with only a need to freshen up after lunch.

I recently picked up L’Oreal’s Lash Renewal Serum and I was very excited to try it. I would describe my lashes as dull with lack of volume and length. So I must admit, I had high hopes for this product-L’Oreal says that this product (with continued use) that lash health will improve. Also, the serum will nourish, fortify and strengthen your lashes.
The bristle-less applicator is easy to use and this product is even suitable for those with sensitive eyes & contact lens wearers (score!). The serum does take some time to dry so I would recommend putting this on at least 30 minutes before applying your make up.
I’m 5 days into using this product (day & night) and I’ve already seen some fantastic results! My lashes are a bit fuller now! I also do not need to rely on curling my lashes before applying mascara. For mascara, I’m currently using L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black. This mascara paired with the serum is doing wonders for my lashes. I truly have never seen such fantastic results (except when I’m wearing false lashes)! I’m getting more length, fullness and volume then ever before.

Today I used my Stila Smudge Pot in Kitten as well as the regular Stila eye shadow in Kitten and my Kitten Lip Glaze to create what I call my “Kitten Classic Look”. It’s really just an awesome champagne golden smokey brown look. I plan to do a tutorial for my YouTube channel using this look within the week so be on the lookout!
