Feeling Nostalgic

“It’s beauty that captures your attention; personality which captures
your heart.” -Unknown

Today I felt like wearing a dress. There is something about a dress,
especially in the summer time, it makes you feel extra feminine &
glamorous. I have quite a few summer dresses in my wardrobe but this
one makes me feel a bit vintage with the way that it’s cut. In fact, I’d say this dress makes me feel somewhat nostalgic.

Today I did my hair a bit different–an oversized bun with a middle part. It
felt super elegant & sleek–I’m in love.

A Sleek Updo

Recently I discovered a product that has proved to be a major lifesaver for me this summer. It’s called the HairStyler Foundation, it’s very thick and donut shaped & made from a mesh material.  It literally takes no time at all to create a beautiful voluminous bun. It’s a great way for me to create a sleek & chic updo. It give my bun lots of volume without having to tease and back comb my hair.

Ponytails are be a bit repetitive, most of the other updos require me to curl my hair-sometimes I do not have the time for extensive styling. The best part is that I don’t have to apply any heat to my hair whatsoever when I do this hairstyle.. The bun can look very causal or super dressy with a cute sparkly accessory or a flower accent.

Creating Your Own Trends

Updos & Bold Style Earrings: There is nothing better than creating your own trends. I don’t usually go by ‘whats hot or what’s not’ and when creating your own personal style, I think it’s crucial to wear what you like. What I love about fashion is creating a look and accesorizing an outfit. I also love how my style or habits can drastically change (for no reason at all). For example, for the past two years, I had been crazy about over sized stud earrings and stud earrings in general. I found that I never wore any of my “dangle” style earrings. The other day I was playing around with my hair and trying to creating a beach style summer updo and I loved the hairstyle I came up with but dangle earrings-especially bold designs & anything with jewels- seemed to fit so well with the look. This updo is wearable for day or night and makes me feel as though my look is a bit more polished.

Another fun trend that I have been wearing: bold & bright pink nails on both my fingers and toes. I never used to go bright & bold on my finger nails but it’s like another accessory to an outfit. I wore a black & white outfit and the bright pink nails really brought a little something to the look.

Replacing bronzer with a shimmery highlighter. I adore a dewy glow…I think I actually prefer it over a golden summery bronzed look. I recommend NARS multiple in Copacabana.
