Must Have Hairspray’s

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

I love these two products-they have become “must have” items for me!

L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray-

I would have to say that one of the best hairsprays out there is L’Oreal’s Elnett hairspray.  What I love about this product is it hold my hair in place and it’s it a soft satin-like finish. It’s also very eary to comb out of my hair. The smell is definitely a bit weird-it smells like something your granny would use however, the hairspray works wonderfully and that’s what keeps me coming back to it.  It’s about $15 but it’s well worth it because I get fabulous results every time.

For teasing & lots of mega volume, I use Aussie’s Aussome Volume Hairspray. This hairspray is quite sticky and has made my hair a bit knotty on a very windy day but I love the fact that’s it’s like instant glue in my hair and keeps my volume in. I use it on the crown of my head-spray each section & tease. It also has a pleasant fragrance to it too!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

Hello Everyone! I haven’t blogged in quite some time. I’ve been quite unmotivated to do anything since we had 2 massive snowstorms last week. I hope you all had a fabulous Valentine’s Day. It just occurred to that I got engaged 7 years ago today! My, oh my, time certainly does fly.

Today was a really nice…I did a little shopping at MAC & Ulta and had a late lunch at Starbucks. It was a really great afternoon. Today at Ulta- I found (what I hope is) a dupe for MAC’s Coconut Ice nail polish. I’m excited to try that out.

I was very excited about the outfit I wore today-I bought these fabulous royal blue pumps about a month ago and I was waiting for just the right time to wear them! What I love about these pumps are that they are unique-it’s not everyday that you see someone wearing velvery royal blue shoes.  The shoes actually reminded me a bit of Carrie Bradshaw’s “Something Blue” pumps by Manolo Blahnik (just for the simple fact that they are a deep blue). Obviously you really can’t compare the two but, these pumps are going to be one of those classic items in my collection-they pair well with jeans or could go with just the right workplace attire…I know I’ll be able to make it work!

I also treated myself to the “Large Oval Key” from Tiffany’s.  I bought it about a week ago & I was not sure if  I was going to wait until Mother’s Day or just cave in & open it on Valentine’s Day. I just could not wait…it’s so beautiful and I absolutely love it. I think out of all the keys, I’m most fond about the oval one.

Have a great week & stay warm.

Rambles Of A Glamour Girl

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

So today was pretty chill-I threw on my comfiest outfit and went to the mall to pick up a few tops from Charlotte Russe that are going to come in handy for future shoots as well as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day & my birthday. I also painted my nails a bright & festive pink color for Valentine’s Day.  I paired OPI’s “Got a date to-knight” & “Princesses Rule”.

Today I did a simple smoky eyed matte look using my Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Palette, Laura Geller Liquid Candlelight & MAC’s Underage.

I got my bangs cut this past week too-I was in desperate need of a trim. I’m still getting used to how short they are now! Ahh!

Hope you all have a fabulous week.

A Little Chanel

Thanks to my Twitter buddy, Debbie, I couldn’t help but want these beautiful Chanel sunglasses. She did a post on these sunglasses and I was in love. I am usually not the type to run out and buy something so expensive however, these glasses fit my personality so much. They are sleek & oversized and have elegant little white bows on them-I had to have them! Chanel is a such a timeless & classic brand and I know that these sunglasses are going to be one of those items that I will NEVER get tired of. They will go with most any outfit & can be worn all season. I’m in love.

Check out Debbie’s Fashion Blog, she is really creative & has great fashion sense! http://swaggerofaprincess.blogspot.com/

…bought Creme D’Nude from MAC and….I’M IN LOVE. I’ve never found a lipstick that worked so perfectly for me. It’s fabulous & such a flattering shade for my skin tone.

I took some shots to add to my Fashbo portfolio which I’ve added to this post as well.

I was oh so happy with how my eyes turned out too! I created a really awesome maroon smoky eye using MAC’s eye shadows in Jest, Sable & Sketch. With a little bronzer & MAC’s Creme D’nude-I feel head over heels in love with this look.

Sultry Romantic Look

20100122-DSC_5398

Wow! Valentine’s Day is just about 3 weeks away so I decided to try to create a Valentine’s Day inspired look. As you know, I am all about the smoky eye so I wanted to incorporate that into the look. I call this look my Sultry Romantic look. I’m always looking for more ways to wear more pink eye shadow and what I really love about this look is it’s a nice spin to such a classic look.

A shimmery black eye shadow from one of my Too Faced Quickie palettes
An iridescent white eye shadow (also from my) Too Faced Quickie palette

My Signature Look

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

20100119-DSC_5356

I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that I have a major obsession with nude lips. My signature look seems to be smokey eyes & a simple nude lip.

20100118-DSC_5337

I don’t even know how or when it all started but I was going through my lip products the other day and came across 99.9% nude colored lip glosses! This is just a small portion of the many nude glosses I own!

2010-01-17 036

Nude glosses are simple & versatile and I think that’s why I’m so drawn to them. When I think about the last 10 years, my makeup techniques and looks have come a long way. Ok….ten years ago my signature look was…*cringe*…. snow white eyeshadow paired with a mauve/purple lip. In fact, I think my make up collection consisted of no more than…5 products? Oh goodness, thank god I have come a long way!

Although I have come a far way from “snow white eyes & purple lips” I would very much like to start using lipsticks again. I’ve heard some good things about MAC’s Crème de Nude lipstick. I picked it up this past weekend. I’m very excited. It’s a simple color & can be paired with many different looks!

A New Look!

Monday, January 18th, 2010

A new look is JUST what I needed to start 2010 off right!

After

I decided to go darker! For the longest time, I’ve been rockin’ my natural hair color and it got a little repetitive.

I dyed my hair black a few days ago. I have to admit, I LOVE it; t’s a nice, subtle change. I used L’Oreal Excellence Creme in #1. This is the first time I used this particular brand and since I was please with the end results, I’m going to be sure to use the L’Oreal Excellence Creme dye again :)

Look of the Day

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

A few months ago I blogged about a cute beige blazer that I bought from Asia. When I fist laid eyes on it, I knew I had to have it. Let’s face it, Asians fashion trends are always ahead of other fashion trends. This blazer is incredibly comfy & chic all at the same time. I wore it for the first time today & I can tell this is going to be one of the versatile pieces that I can wear with anything at anytime.
